Crimes Against Seniors

We all need to be extremely cautious who you bring into your home. Some caregivers have criminal records and must be avoided at all costs.upset-elderly-woman-reading-letter_573x300

According to the National Center on Elder Abuse, there are over 66,000 reports of elder abuse in California alone annually. Due to the growing number of fraud cases against seniors in our area by either deceptive care providers or inexperienced family members, it is imperative that the person you allow into your home has been thoroughly assessed.

Background Checks

Upon request from potential employers, Shekinah Care will require background checks that include fingerprinting through our local Department of Justice. Some local agencies do not require this verification.  Some even go as far as to advertise “24 Hour Turn Around to Full Employment”  or “No Experience Needed-Will Train” when soliciting for new employees.

Although a combination of checks is not completely fail-safe, family members should remain vigilant when searching for the perfect caregiver.

Compromising these values can be costly.
